Welcome to VT Work/Life Resources!

Work-Life balance means different things to each of us, but its overreaching goal is a welcoming and supportive community for the diverse group of people who work and study at Virginia Tech. A comfortable balance between work life and personal life allows employees to contribute their best efforts to University academic and diversity goals.

Flexible Work Options (FWO)

Flexible work options are alternatives to the traditional "9-to-5" workday, the standard workweek, or the traditional workplace. FWO can help employees balance work and personal responsibilities, while meeting business needs and objectives.

Additionally, supervisors can use FWO to promote productivity, improve job satisfaction, and develop management and leadership skills. Such flexibility can enhance recruitment and retention of valuable employees.
